Traveling this weekend

This Saturday, Breis and Fryer and Fi and Asha will be traveling to Galax, Va. for an ox clinic. Matthews farm museum  www.matthewsfarmmuseum.org , will be hosting the event. Take a look at there web site and read all about the farm and their passions.
We will be working in the fields continuing to train on plowing, meeting other experience teamsters and ox teams.

One advantage to traveling to a new place with Breis and Fryer is trust. Because of the new environment, the boys faith and trust in me is vital. It gives us an opportunity to establish more of a bond through knowing that they must count on me to keep them save and secure.
One bit of information I have learned this week is in order to take Breis and Fryer across state lines (Va.) is you must have a premise ID and the Boys had to be tested for TB (tuberculosis). Dr. Karen Jordan gave the injection yesterday and will come back Friday to read the reaction. Lets hope they do not have one. Karen will put a metal tag in the ear of each ox and hopeful we will be ready to go.
We plan to take lots of pictures and videos to share with you on the blog. This is Breis and Fryer's longest trip. About 2 1/2 to 3 hours on the road. Wish us luck.
Kathryn plans to keep Fi and Asha over night to continue the ox clinic on Sunday. So the young team will experience a new barn with other teams. Wow! Kathryn and Ezra won't have to sleep in the barn. ; - )
