Since the farm tour, I took Breis and Fryer to the leased land for a couple of weeks. I have had so much work here at the dairy with intensive grazing and May calving continuing, that I needed to take a break with the boys and get caught up a bit. I brought the boys back to the farm today because I missed them badly but also I have some plowing opportunities I would like to try with them. I will be sowing some crab grass for our summer time grazing so there is a small paddock I want the boys to work in. I plan to take pictures and put together a video so I can post it on the blog. Even if the boys struggle and fight the work, I will still post it because it is good to see oxen when they don't like the job they are doing. It gives you a good idea of what it takes to get them understanding what you are asking of them. They will also need to be in good condition which means we might need to get the rock sled back out and warm up before attempting to plow.
Here, Breis and Fryer are pulling the sled with a tractor tire, Tylor, and Jamie the farm dog
